I want to spread a little light in the darkness…but I need your help.
Like many, I’ve been gutted by the news of the child separation policy. I’ve been brainstorming how I could share my art to help make a difference. It’s easy to feel hopeless and overwhelmed. But I didn’t want to stay stuck there.
I did some painting (it always makes me feel better!) and I decided to take my art to make postcards that I can give away – but this is where I need your help.
Alone I can’t really make much of a difference in stopping the horrific child separation policy. But together we can create ripples. In return for sending you five postcards, I ask that you use the postcards to write to someone – an elected official, the media, a friend or family member – and urge them to take action on this issue. With each note we write we will be reminded that our words matter. We will feel a little less bleak and a little more inspired to shine a light in the darkness.
Are you willing to help BE THE LIGHT for these kids?
If so, all you need to do is sign up here to get your five postcards*. AND, to make it even more worth your time, I’m going to give away a tote bag and a signed print to two random folks who agree to send postcards! Like I said, let’s spread a little light and love. 🙂
It’s that easy. Fill out the quick form (I won’t share your information or use it for any other purpose than sending the notecards) and I’ll ship you your postcards via snail mail. Then we can get to work writing our cards and spreading a little light.
*I decided to make postcards because 1) elected officials take note of constituents who take the time to write a hand-written note and 2) there is something magical about taking pen to paper. In a world with newsfeeds and endless clicking, I written note feels necessary at times. (Plus, who doesn’t love getting mail?!)
